I had a very moving experience today was I visited the Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall which is on display this week in Lakeville MN (at the Haase Arena on CR 70 – Take Cedar south and turn west on CR 70 -1st light past Jeff Belzer’s – and follow the signs to the Wall).
I was able to find the name of a boy from my home town in Carpentersville Illinois who lost his life serving our country in Vietnam. Keith John Andres on panel 29E line 9.
I was friends with his younger brother Lance and I remember how hard Lance took the news of his brothers death. Keith was 6 years older than I was.
Keith was an MP in the US Army 545th, 1st Cav Division, USARV. He served in Vietnam a little over a year before he was killed by small arms fire. He was 20 years old.
We should never forget those who gave all for God and country. Freedom is never free.
You should visit the Traveling Wall. I was told it will be on display through July 13th.
