Vikings win!

What a game eh? Down to the last second. I really thought the Vikes had blown that 17 point lead and the game when the miracle of January 14th happened with 10 seconds left on the clock!

Someone asked what SKOL meant. Here is my answer:
It’s a toast – like cheers. Used before drinking alcoholic beverages. Commonly heard in Viking lodges and games when the Vikings pillage, plunder, score or win.

And plunder is a pretty good word for the win over the Saints yesterday.

Come and watch the Championship playoff game against Philadelphia next Sunday at Post 1776. Seating is limited so be sure to get here early!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! We all hope you had a terrific and safe New Year’s Eve last night.

Post 1776 was packed yesterday for the Viking and Bears game. In fact when I arrived, I found but one open seat at the bar and took it! It stayed packed until about half time and then only a couple of tables opened up.

Of course the Vikings won (I am a Bears fan, and am used to saying there is always next year). Many are comparing the Viking defense to the Bears 1985 4-6 defense. I have to say that even though the Vikings have an awesome defense, nothing compares to that 1985 Bears team. Remember that they had back to back shut outs in the play offs before crushing New England 46-10. Let’s hope the Vikings can do the same and prevail to play in the Superbowl and at their own field! That has never happened in the history of the Super Bowl and is a real possibility for the Vikes.

So Happy New Year! Go Vikings and see you at the Post. Make Post 1776 your home for the playoffs.

We are open today so come on in for the specials. The Prime Rib dip and Prime Rib melt are on the specials for today.

Don’t forget – MEMBERS ONLY! Tom & Jerry Party on January 7th. You must show your 2018 membership card. Guests of members are $5.00.

Last but not least, the January Newsletter is online!

Kids Christmas Party

The kids Christmas party today (12/10/2017) went off without a hitch! We snuck in early and got some candid shots of some of Santa’s helpers.

We want to thank all the volunteers who wrapped presents and got everything ready for Santa. The Boy Scouts were also at Post 1776 today.

PaintNite 11-30-2017 a big hit!

Our second PaintNite with host Jeremy was a huge success. Shown here is our Commander Carla and husband Joe showing off for the camera before everyone started their paintings. The object painting was a flower with a burst of color. While most got pretty close to the photo shown here, a few looked more like a roundabout at sunset (blame it on the wine)! But everyone had a great time getting there.

Everyone is looking forward to the next PaintNite and several of the bar patrons stopped in to ask when the next one will be. Check our events page on this web site or in the Newsletter. We’ll let you know.
