A message from your Commander

Greetings to all my fellow veterans!!

Tis the season!! Thanksgiving is over….the elections are over and now we are on to bigger and better things!! Has everyone recovered from the turkey and stuffing coma that always seems to happen? I know I took a long nap after dinner! There’s just something very satisfying about a Thanksgiving Day nap and up again to watch football and get ready for Black Friday shopping!!

Get out and spread good cheer!! With that being said…. Christmas is coming and we have tons of activities planned. The post is having their Christmas Dinner on December 8th. Make sure you sign up in the pull-tab booth as soon as possible! Sherri has a great night planned for us!! I believe steak and lobster is on the menu!!

The Children’s Christmas party is on December 11th from 11-3. Santa will be here from 12-2pm and Mrs. Santa Claus will be having story time with the kids sometime during that time. We will be having tons of activities, cookie decorating and games.  You must RSVP in order to bring anyone to the party so we know what kind of age appropriate gift to get for the child. You can’t just walk in because we won’t have a gift for the child. If you would like to bring your child or grandchild, age 0-10 years, I need their name and age and contact information so we can get hold of you to confirm. RSVP by e-mail ONLY at ctappainer@charter.net.

To volunteer for the children’s Christmas Party, please call me at 952-249-7849.

Don’t forget about the Tom and Jerry Party on January 8th from 12-3!! Hope to see all our members there!! The Chili cook off will be in February! Get your recipes ready! If anyone has any more ideas for events, please contact me!!

Keep an eye out for information on the New Year’s Eve Party!! We will post information on the board as soon as all the specifics are worked out.

A HUGE Thank-You goes out to Sherri and all her volunteers for the Great Veteran’s Day dinner and activities!! I believe everyone had a great time and Nick did a great job on the food!! We always have the best Veteran’s Day Celebration in the area! Our post is full of dedicated veterans, family members and friends working to make us the best in the state!!!

Let’s all remember what this Christmas Season is about!! Loving one another, helping our families, friends and neighbors and taking care of all our veterans!!!

I look forward to a great future for America – a future in which our country will match its military strength with our moral restraint, its wealth with our wisdom, its power with our purpose.

John F. Kennedy

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!! –

Is there a special dinner/event scheduled for News Years Eve? I didn’t see anything online nor in the news letter. In the past I think I remember a special dinner with music and dancing.

    Thank you
