Post 1776 Commander
February 2012

Greetings Legionnaires, and Welcome to all new members.

2012 has arrived and brings with it a renewed opportunity for each of us to produce positive changes in ourselves, our Post and our nation. Many of you have likely made resolutions for the New Year and I wish you strength in achieving them. When I look back at the last six months as the Commander of the Post and what I've experienced, believe me, I can see plenty of room for self improvement. Communication is the key to success and my resolution to you and the Post is to be a better communicator.

2011 was an excellent year for our Post. We had a large increase in membership. Let's continue the growth of the Post by introducing a veteran or a neighbor to our Post. The best way to serve the well being of our fellow vets is to bring them into the Legion family. I want to thank our 1st Vice Commander and Membership Director, John Lenvik, for the great job he has done with membership.

We had our annual Tom & Jerry party on January 8th, and once again it was a great success and a very good turnout of members. I want to thank Dave "Doc" Schilling for once again taking charge of the event, Dick Immerfal for putting the event together and Bernice Spindler for preparing that wonderful and delicious T & J batter.

Our next Members Day will be Sunday, February 26th and will be our 21st annual chili-cook off -- yum!

For God and Country,
Lowell Huber       - Commander-
