FROM THE GAMBLING BOOTH NEWS LETTER JANUARY 2017

1 min read

Hello again Fellow Legionnaires and Legion Family, where has the time, all ready it’s time to hang a new calendar and ring in 2017. Post 1776 has seen a lot of changes over the years, some have been good, and a few nothing to write home about. Our membership continues to grow, but we have lost so many links to our Posts history.

Gambling has seen a lot of changes over the years too! From Pull Tabs being sold behind the bar by the bartenders, to a portable rolling booth to the one we have now. We have helped many Veterans and people in the Community with our proceeds. At the January meeting I will have a spread sheet showing where the bulk of our money is allocated too. As you can see in the list shown here we had a busy month!

Donations for Month:
1. PROJECT EXPLORE
2. APPLE VALLEY DISTRICT 196 FOUNDATION
3. EASTVIEW HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS LEADERSHIP
4. KIDS N KINSHIP
5. APPLE VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL SPEECH ACTIVITY
6. EASTVIEW HIGH SCHOOL TAKE DOWN CANCER PROGRAM
7. APPLE VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY BOOSTERS
8. AVGBBC APPLE VALLEY GIRLS BASKETBALL
9. STUDENT VETERAN ASSOCIATION U OF MINNESOTA

May 2017 be a fantastic year for you, your family and Post 1776! From Sheri, Merilee, Leslie, Rachel, Jodie, LeeAnn and all of the Gambling employees have a Happy and Healthy New Year

Well until next month, still serving Veterans and Community!

    1. It is being worked on by the Committee. We should have it online very soon. You will also be required to submit a copy of your 501.c paperwork when you submit the form.

  1. Hi,

My name is Aidan Groeller, I am a Senior at Apple Valley Bigh School. I am a Captain of our swim team, and our booster club has gone to the Legion for generous donations in the past. I am wondering where I can find the form that allows me and the swim team to request/schedule an appointment to respectfully request donations for our upcoming season.

    1. Hi Adam,

You would have your swim team coach pick the form up at the Legion. They are on the wall outside of the manager’s office. Or download the form from this website. Click on Charitable Gambling.

Have your coach follow the instructions and submit the form as specified with the required supporting documents necessary for processing a school request.
