Tribute to Fallen Soldiers 07-20-2019

1 min read

Today (07/20/2019) I had the honor of being present for a very moving ceremony honoring our fallen soldiers.  Post 1776 hosted the Staff of the Tribute to Fallen Soldiers who are escorting the Fallen Soldiers Memorial Flame from Eugene Oregon to Arlington National Cemetery in Washington D.C. to honor and pay tribute to America’s Fallen service members.

The riders met with the Kopp family in Minnetonka to honor Army Corporal Ben Kopp who was killed in service of our country in 2009. For those who attended they stated it was very difficult to hold back their tears.

Then the group departed for the Children’s Hospital and then onto American Legion Post 1776 at 18:30 hours escorted by Apple Valley Police and the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office. A big thank you to those agencies for providing their escort.

Here are some photos from today’s ceremony and tribute.
