Today, two members of Post 1776 were honored and recognized that Eagan Rotary Veterans Day Program. It was a wonderful program that included Eagan Men’s Chorus singing our National Anthem, Mansions of the Lord, the Armed Services Medley, This is My Country and God Bless America.
Corporal Al Jaeger who served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946 in WWII in Italy with the 345th Combat Engineers spoke about his early life and his enlisting in the Army.
Captain Chuck Burin served in the US Marine Corp, from 1963 – 1974 and is a Vietnam Veteran. Chuck relived some of the many stories and stressed that in his opinion the real heroes were the enlisted men who kept everything running on the ground. As he put it: “Officers break things and they would fix them.’
